At Ride A WAV, we get to meet incredible people every day—but few leave a lasting impression quite like Sidiki Conde. We were honored to meet Sidiki at the 2025 Disability Unite Festival in New York, where his smile, strength, and spirit captured the hearts of everyone in attendance. As one of our valued clients, Sidiki embodies what it means to not only live with resilience, but to turn it into rhythm, art, and joy.

A Journey That Inspires Us

Born in Guinea, West Africa, Sidiki Conde lost the use of his legs at age 14. In his home culture, this disability threatened to isolate him—but Sidiki refused to be left behind. He taught himself to walk using his hands, adapted his body to dance, and committed his life to preserving traditional African music and culture. He became not just a survivor, but a leader, educator, and global performer.

Through his music, movement, and powerful presence, Sidiki challenges perceptions of disability and celebrates the universal language of rhythm. Today, he lives in New York City and shares his gifts through performance, teaching, and advocacy.

Sidiki’s workshop at Shanga

In Arusha, Tanzania, Sidiki Conde recently led a powerful drumming workshop for a group of deaf participants—a moving reminder that music and rhythm go beyond hearing. This unforgettable session took place at Shanga, a self-sustaining social enterprise committed to inclusion, creativity, and empowerment.

Sidiki’s workshop at Shanga was more than music—it was a moment of unity, showing that rhythm can connect us all, no matter our abilities.

A Special Day at Disability Pride Event

We had the pleasure of meeting Sidiki Conde at the 2025 Disability Unite Festival in New York—and it was a moment we’ll never forget. The event was full of energy, music, and community spirit. One of our favorite memories was helping Sidiki by carrying his drum as he moved from one part of the festival to another. It was a small gesture, but it meant a lot to be part of his day.

Sidiki spent the event doing what he does best—playing music, sharing rhythm, and connecting with people. His performance reminded us that real inclusion means making sure everyone can take part, fully and freely.

Be Inspired—Follow Sidiki’s Music

Sidiki’s music blends traditional West African rhythms with personal storytelling. His songs are soulful, joyful, and deeply rooted in cultural memory. Whether he’s playing the djembe, singing, or dancing with his hands to the beat, every performance is a celebration of resilience.

This is not just music—it’s a life story in motion.
