Every July, New York City becomes a little more inclusive, a little more colorful, and a lot more inspiring. One of the biggest reasons is Disability Unite Festival—a celebration that brings together people with disabilities, families, caregivers, advocates, artists, organizations, and allies for a day focused on community, accessibility, and pride.
At Ride A WAV, we believe everyone deserves the freedom to enjoy events like these without worrying about transportation. That's why Disability Unite is one of our favorite events of the year.
What Is Disability Unite?
Disability Unite is one of the largest celebrations of Disability Pride in New York City. Held in recognition of Disability Pride Month and the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the festival welcomes everyone—regardless of ability—to celebrate inclusion and equal access.

Why Disability Unite Matters
Disability Unite is more than a festival.
It's a reminder that accessibility isn't just about ramps and elevators—it's about belonging.
For many attendees, it's an opportunity to:
Meet others with shared experiences.
Discover valuable community resources.
Celebrate disability identity with pride.
Learn about advocacy and accessibility.
Enjoy a fun summer day without barriers.
Events like Disability Unite continue to help make New York City more welcoming and inclusive for everyone.
Getting There Shouldn't Be the Hardest Part
Planning transportation is often one of the biggest concerns for people attending large events.
Questions like:
Will my wheelchair fit?
Is the ride reliable?
Will someone help me safely?

These concerns shouldn't stop anyone from enjoying Disability Unite.
That's where Ride A WAV comes in.
